I am currently undergoing the process of memorising 12 tunes. Therefore I thought I would point out the best free resource I have found to help.

It is written by hangout member oldwoodchuckb (Tony Spadero). In chapter 2 he describes in great detail the learning of seperate 'phrases' using the well known tune Cripple Creek.
