A beginner's challenge! What a great idea!

I think the competition ranks beginner as from Jan 16. But you state the date you started in the video so it should be taken into account.

I can't imagine a huge amount of entries judging by the amount accessing difficult to reach areas like blogs etc.

When I first heard about this challenge, I thought, great I'll enter as I still consider myself a novice picker. Sadly, I don't meet the rookie starting date. Keep picking.

I have watched you on the BHO @pickn5, there is no way you are a beginner! When I grow up I want to be like you! Seriously I did not start playing in Jan 16 I didn't start playing in Jan 17! Egads!

I don't know how to fit this in around my 'goals'.

I suppose if I keep 'saving' days I can dedicate them towards a single tune.

Interesting but kind of scary I watched the last beginner challenge entries although I couldn't watch the first place and I already felt intimidated. :(

Thank you @Boadicea for the kind words about not being a novice player. I say novice due to the fact that I cannot play at jam speed or make full 4 finger chord positions quickly. I'm working on it though. I did enter one of the challenges a few months back on any tune Earl Scruggs recorded. No winner, but, not discouraged.

@Judi511 -- Don't think of it as a contest, but as a challenge. The judges may pick a winner, but that's just to give them something to do. Compete with yourself, nobody else, and make a recording that shows off what you can do right now.

Yes I guess you are right Wayne. I do have some time so I can work on something :). I do record myself with the plan of listening down the road and seeing how I have improved.
