So what do people use metal or plastic? I am experimenting with both.

	n1wr says: 11/25/2017 7:05:23 AM Never really thought about it, always assumed that for bluegrass it was metal on the fingers, plastic on the thumb. The one issue I have had is keeping the picks aligned with the strings. Dunlop M-30 thumb picks come with a built in twist to make it easier, and that works for me.
	Judith511 says: 11/25/2017 1:44:48 PM Thanks for the input. I was unable to get a metal pick for the thumb as they were out. I do have one but it is a little to big and falls off even when I push it together. I didn't know they came with a twist I will have to look
	WayneConrad says: 11/27/2017 7:38:03 AM Plastic for the thumb, metal for the fingers. Plastic is easily shaped. You can heat it in hot water and bend it to fit your thumb well, and then you can easily trim/file/buff the tip to make it the right length and shape for you.
