im very new at this.however its something ive wanted to do for a very long time.ive had my new banjo for 3 weeks and i love it.the challendge and diffaculty of learning the banjo is an adventure for me.i know a few chords and im learning the forward rolls first.if there is any advice you guys could give me that would make the learning more simple and somewhat eaiser, id really appreciate the intell.ty and god bless and merry christmas to all of you.

	Banjojono says: 12/25/2017 4:26:49 AM Well I don't know about making it easier, that just comes with practise. However rather than just practise rolls, start learning some tunes. These help with rolls and timing. I started out with Cripple Creek, then foggy mountain breakdown. Just learn and play slowly and the rolls in these tunes as well as your practising will become tattood on your brain. Once you have these imprinted it will get easier as you won't have to always think about it and you're playing will get more fluid. Good luck, enjoy and Merry Xmas.
	conic says: 12/25/2017 5:12:17 AM Hello Steve. Rolls are great as long as you practice small bites but often. To get a few songs under your belt try searching on youtube for Rob Bourassa, real slow free lessons and you will pick up a lot of licks / rolls which will do you good. Take it real slow and repeat many many times. Also Jim Pankey has just done 10 beginner free lessons which are outstanding which you will find at this link below .... banjohangout.org/topic/331015/

I take lessons on Peghead Nation with Bill Evans he has a great beginner Banjo course . It is all about practice, just keep at it. :)
