A simple little thing, but makes my practice banjo so much easier to tune. It also gives me the opportunity to do some much needed work on the banjo - A Stew-Mac American Eagle from the 80's. It's a solid banjo - mahogany neck which gives it a nice mellow tone, and a hefty top of the line tone ring they were selling back then. It was a kit banjo - necessitated by my living in Caracas Venezuela at the time - I couldn't get a full size banjo through embassy mail. All the metal parts need a good cleaning, so I'll take it apart and shine it up. I'm also thinking of replacing the nut - thinking of adding a bit of compensation there to make the B string tune better.
