We've talked about this - when you don't know the chords in a jam - you watch the guitar player. So the youtube below is a good example of how to do this. The tune is Dixie Breakdown, in the key of G. Watch Jason's left hand when he is strumming straight chords on the guitar - the tune is simple, chord wise, G - C - and D chords. He plays some runs, so you have to be ready for that, but if you get out the chords for Dixie Breakdown, and follow along, it should be clear how to do this.
