I don't know how you all move about the Hangout, seeking knowledge, I do it randomly. Every once in a while a posted string of messages really hits home. I saw a post to the string "Strategies for Practicing" that really hit home with some really good advice. Herre's the link:

There are lots of different ways to arrange practice time, and I think it depends a lot on where you are, development wise, and where you want to go. If you have a jam that you go to, for instance, it is pretty easy to identify the songs that come up repeatedly, and then focus on learning the tunes in the key they are being played, and picking up a couple different breaks along with a good backup strategy. That is almost the same thing you would do if you were in a band. Without the jam to be your motivator you are kinda on your own, and I think the ideas in that post are really helpful. Having someone to play with really helps. My wife plays fiddle. So we have a number of tunes that we both play, and I work to fine tune my playing as I said above. What fun!
	pickn5 says: 3/14/2018 6:22:33 AM What mbuk06 said hit home for me. I recently decide to learn tunes that I like rather than just learning bluegrass tunes. I'm currently working on You Are My Sunshine. Next up is Red River Valley. I play for my own pleasure and wanted tunes that people in my area would know when I try busking this summer. Keep picking.
