Great Practice Session Yesterday

From pickn5 on 9/14/2018 7:23:16 AM

I've been having troubled getting a smooth transition from one lick to another on a version of Red River Valley I'm learning. During yesterday's practice, I finally got it. I also had great progress on my chord changes, F shape up and down the neck, G to D to G and also A to D to A to E to A. I had, for me, a great practice session. When I was done, I felt like I had made progress. Yea! I'll be back at it today. Keep picking.

It was fun playing along with the lesson tracks. Tom Dooley in G and Boil Them Cabbage Down in A. I'm using Geoff Hohwald's Banjo Rythm and Backup 101 package. Keep picking.

It's a great feeling when everything seems to come together. Often, I find it's the day after a hard practice session and a sleep [which concurs with what the practice books say].

Very good to hear. We all like those days. Ah to have progress like that every day.

It is so exciting when these inspiring breakthroughs occur. :)

Hey all, thanks for the support. It took me a long time to finally get Red River Valley to the point where I could play along with the lesson practice track and don't have to refer back to the tab. Finally another yea moment for the anti gifted musician.

I finally got Red River Valley good enough, I hope, to record a video for posting. I'm going to try recording on this Wednesday when the wife is out and I can play without the mute.
