Original Pre War Flathead Top Tension Gibson PB7 banjo with a Robin Smith 5 string neck and the original plectrum neck and case.

I’ve always loved old Gibson banjos and I bought this rare 1938 instrument approx. 10+ years ago.

Unfortunately the acquisition coincided with the onset of some serious hand problems. As some of my friends on here know, this resulted in surgery on both hands over the next few years.

I can still play occasionally but not enough to do this monster banjo justice and I’ve reluctantly decided that it probably needs a better home.

I’ve had interest from overseas but before I go down that route, I’d rather see if anyone here in the UK is looking for an instrument of this quality and value. It’s in superb original condition and this is a rare opportunity to find one of these banjos available in the UK.

It’s an absolute tone monster of a banjo, both powerful and loud with an easy playing radiused 5 string neck.
