I have just reacquainted myself with the 5 string banjo I bought from the USA many years ago but never took seriously, that is until now.

Upon asking various total greenhorn questions in other sections of this site I thought one more wont go amiss here...lol

I have 2 banjo straps I bought years ago (still in their packaging) one is a JDMC tan leather with sheepskin shoulder pad, the other darker is one from Folk of the Wood (now defunct I think) they have both 2" bodies with 1" tails and laces....both are CRADLE type.

I have been advised to sling one on and use it whilst learning,

Dumbass newbie question follows --->>> How do I attach the strap to suit me and what brackets does it thread through and how do I tie off for safety.

Your advice is fully appreciated...more pics if need be!

	stewball says: 11/5/2014 1:57:49 AM I always found trial and error with regards to which brackets to secure it too. Find which position suits your style of playing and is comfortable long term. I remember referring to photos of some of the pro players (i think i copied John Hartfords set up in the end). ps i think i have that sheepskin one - always found it the most forgiving on the shoulder!!
