	simesa says: 11/5/2014 2:02:51 AM I wondered that too - perhaps the postage cost excludes us over this side of the world - and I suspect, if you did win, HMRC would want duty and VAT paying when it arrived and before it was delivered to you.
	BigC says: 11/5/2014 10:55:46 AM Yeah I bought my Banjo from the States..way back when...lol GoldTone OB250 Orange Blossom (EZ Folk.com)..postage was excellent but when it arrive customs wanted a further £78 for the privilege.... Anyway that said it worked out OK..... I knew the delivery person who brought my parcel (I worked with him in a previous job)..told me IF you can get them (the sellers) to state/declare on the parcel/package its for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES then this is exempt....just stating what I was told here...they may have blocked that loophole (if its true) and how you go about asking (maybe a schoolteacher could order for you..lol) I wouldn't know...worth finding out though.....

	stewball says: 11/6/2014 2:20:28 AM thats nice to here that UK members can win - although the added duty is a pain. i'll bear that in mind if i enter a competition. i remember my one and only import from the states for a lovely instrument and i completely forgot the duty/tax issue. its an oversight you only make once.
