Thanks for letting me join the group. Based in Southend-on-sea, Essex which, as far as I can tell, is a banjo wasteland.

I'm a Church musician graduating from the ukulele to the 5 string banjo.

I'm willing and wanting to be proved wrong living in Rainham just up the road so if you do have any success I'd love to hear from you. Good luck with your new instrument this is a great forum to find advice and a friendly ear all the very best.

As posted by Banjules I can throughly recommend the Murphy Method. Been using it for about a year and it works for me. Also look at Casey Henry, Murphy's daughter. She is an extremely accomplished banjo player who also does lessons and occasional $5 downloads. She is on the Hangout site. Good luck hope it all goes well.
