Hi im new to banjos i bought a cheap banjo last month to start me off,and love it so much that ive bought a new one but i had the strings changed the other day and its come back but it doesnt sound the same as the old one all the strings sound better except the 3rd string.

Ive got a digital turner and have tuned it as its supposed to be gdgbd but lie i said it doesnt sound right on the digital reader it says its a g can anyone help.

are there anyone playing bluegrass banjo in south wales cheers Tav.

	derekoftheold97 says: 5/8/2016 1:25:32 AM Hi Tav, try fretting the 4th string at the 5th fret, this is the note you want for the open 3rd string. It is easy sometimes to tune a new string to the wrong octave.

TC Electronic Polytune Clip Clip On Guitar Tuner amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ZU4G0ZK/ref...xbJRK81BZ If the strings are new, they might need stretching out a little, if they haven't been stretched out they tend to go flat quite quickly. I'm relatively new to the banjo myself, but I hope this helps!
