UK5 is very quiet - whats evaybody upto

Very quiet for one of the top and biggest groups, Everybody must be busy practicing....

I am currently getting to grips with Geoff Hohwalds "shuckin the corn", 4 low and 4 high breaks, I think I have pretty much cracked the low breaks and working on the high breaks then I think this song needs to be fast to be effective so that is step 3.

Also put the resonator back on my goodtime and it sounds great now ( to me anyway) the mrs said it sounds just as bad and to keep practicing for another 10 years and I may get somewhere

Then its time to get ready for Didmarton this weekend. Lucky I have a job at work lined up for this area on Friday so will not have far to travel..

And booked into Moniaive Bluegrass festival weekend - that is if we can get our very very welded camper can back on the road - anyone else booked in for that? cheers anna

	alfiedog says: 9/1/2016 3:59:08 PM Have a nice time at Didmarton, it's a great festival, pity visitors cant take there dogs. Seems to be the organisors, and Ogri clan are the only folks allowed to take there dogs on site, they must be immune to laws on UK airfields ;-(
	Blue Tuesday says: 9/4/2016 1:11:30 PM I've been restoring an old car and at work – in fact I’m there now. Although I have just ordered my ticket for the ‘Eagle Music’ event, first time since I took up the instrument that I've not been at work that weekend. ;-)
	conic says: 9/4/2016 2:08:48 PM Great weekend at didmarton although it pissed it down there was plenty of jammin and I did not see any dogs Eddie ( the canine type that is), As usual ther were some outstanding pickers and singers and some really nice folks apart from a miserable couple of old timey people who only like clawhammer, I say tough luck and these childish people should keep their face at home to sulk because I will not change from three finger scruggs pickin and will be there next year.. For anybody going to the Cornish festival on 16th September I just got a great deal with one of the holiday park pods which is a sort of fancy wooden shed its two nights for 1 which works out a £40 for both nights, not worth pitching a tent or towing a caravan, just take your own camp bed etc. there is also electric and a heater in them
	hobogal says: 9/19/2016 12:57:16 PM I'm learning some ragtime tunes and getting my fingers in a tangle - but I enjoy the challenge. I went to see Dan Walsh and John Dowling last night in Norwich - very interesting watching them play together. Dan Walsh has a very dynamic, percussive approach to the banjo (almost like slap-bass at times) while John has a very delicate touch; his right hand was super relaxed, no tension. My next gig is Sean Moyses - something a bit different!
