Those good ole Japanese banjos

From dc48 on 7/24/2015 3:01:13 PM

Although I don't own any now I've had my fair share of them. Really wish I had a few of them back. Society Hill and

I have shared a couple of them.  He really knows them and happy that he has started a group that is long overdue.

Of course the Gold Stars I've owned were really good, but the ones I wish I had back is an Iida 240, an Aria Pro II

and the first Whyte Eagle I owned.  I've owned two Whyte Eagles since the first one, but they didn't match up with my

first one.  Sorry you high dollar and big brand name banjos, but haven't seen many of you that are much if any better

than some of the old Japanese economy banjos. Thanks again Society Hill.

New to BHO. I'm glad to see this group, I have loved banjo music for as long as I can remember and decide this year I would learn to play. I have an Alvarez Montana 5 Star, 1972 model. I love banjo music, and learning to play, I'm teaching myself how.

Good to hear from a new member. I've had a few Alvarez banjos, but never had a Montana. I'm sure its
a good banjo as most Alvarez back then were and should make not only a good starter, but one that
will get you to the point of wanting one of the big bucks boutique banjos. Hang in there and don't give
up.

Hi, I am new to BHO. I have a Morris V120 that I got new (as a gift) when I was a teenager in the Mid 70's. She sat unused for about the last 25 years, but I have recently begun playing again. Glad to find a group with similar instruments.
