Multi-ply rim replacement on late 70's Ibanez

From Society Hill on 3/6/2016 5:57:48 PM

I have a 1970s Ibanez Artist with a multi-ply rim that was coming apart.  After fooling with some screws and glue, I decided to get a block rim and wooden tone ring setup made by Harold Green in MI.  He did an excellent job and I'm excited about getting everything set up.  For $220 total, I got a Rocky Mountain hickory block rim and a Bolivian rosewood tone ring for a tube and flange setup.  I really like block rims so I think this is going to turn out well.  For pics of the process so far:

Many thanks to Harold for the quick turnaround and excellent craftsmanship!

I checked out the pictures, they look great. Let us know how she sounds. I bet it's not too heavy either.

Will do. I got everything back together earlier this week and then headed out for a few days. No room for the banjo on the plane. I did end up on the same plane as the Steel Drivers but they got away before I could bother them. All had their instruments. More next week when I get a chance to post some more pics.
