where do you go or who is a competent setup person to work on banjo setup truss rods tension of head lowering action?

The best setup guy I know is Geoff Stelling's guy David Houchens but he is usually busy and has a waiting list. There's another real good guy in Lovingston and he is a BHO member John Hamlett I'm not sure what his screen name is I think it's sunburst. He builds real nice mandolins but he also worked for Stelling and knows his way around a Banjo pretty good I hear. I do setup for most of my friends but I don't take on big projects your's is pretty simple stuff so if all else fails send me a PM.
	papastanley says: 1/30/2012 4:34:35 PM am aqbout 5 miles south of loust grove off rt. 20. have a 2004 deering deluxe. bought used from elderly instruments. arrived tailpiece was unattached strings still attached pot was not on threads were almost striped tension rods were loose head was relly soft tweaked and adjusted best i could did not over tighten. tightened head about 1/8 turn stating from one end then each corner and one side to the other.

Might take a few tries, but he's worth it. He'll get you fixed up.
