I am looking forward to learning more about instruments of Watauga County, North Carolina. I am having an Appalachian mountain banjo made by John Peterson of Moorhead, Minnesota. John was raised in Watauga County and has a degree in Appalachian Studies from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. His fretless banjos are based on those built by the Hicks and Glen families of Watauga County. He sends photos showing his progress every day or so.
