Hi Everyone! I'm looking for a Weymann banjo that was sold for me in 1973. The story: In my early 20s while learning Scruggs style in Connecticut I bought a Weymann banjo in a pawn shop in NYC. This was on the recommendation of luthier John Bringe a friend of Bill Keiths. John was a Weymann fan and worked on one of Jerry Garcia's Weymanns when he lived in the San Fran bay area. Anyway, it was an Orchestra Tenor style 2 or 4. It was converted to a 5-string and it has an easy to identify one-of-a-kind headstock. I had John take the rose image from the Grateful Dead album American Beauty. This was abalone inlaid into the headstock and was about the size of a silver dollar. We also gold plated all the parts. I sold it to have John build me a Gibson Top Tension as I was a huge fan of Bill Keith who played one. Anyway, I would love to track down the Weymann. John sold it and I don't remember who bought it by I recall it was in the mid west. But I'm not sure. John passed away in the 90s. The fingerboard inlay was NOT the tree of life it was the fancy individual ones. Any advice in how to find it would be fantastic. BTW, how do i upload an image?
