Picked up my new Skillet Head!!!!!!!

From Premsore on 10/5/2012 8:11:36 PM

Finally got my hands on it yesterday. I drove up to Hickory and Warren was nothing but great. This Skillet Head #7 is A BOMB!!! I keep switching between my RS walnut #2 and "Lucky" and I'm just in awe of what Warren and Ron are able to do.

I think it would be good to keep track on this group page as to who has the Skillet Heads that are out there. I know Warren has #1, Ron has #2, Robby Boone has #3 (from the photos on the string that was so hot earlier this year when Warren was building it), Dave has #6, and I have #7. So are any of you out there proud owners of #4 and 5? And whoever gets #8 please let us know. It would be neat to keep track of this unique family of outstanding instruments.

Gotta go........Lucky is calling me.

Well you better high tail it back home to Texas! Lol! Sorry, my bad, it's Banjass that's the lefty in Texas.

Actually there are two left handed Skillet Heads in process. Not sure who's is next.

Kaybone, if you're a lefty too and yours is one of them, you have the same first name as Banjass. What are the odds?

I wish mine was next but I believe I'm the second lefty in line. Anticipation...

Have you guys seen the YouTube video from IBMA where Steve Martin gives tribute to Earl and then the pros take turns with FMB? Warren told me that Ron was plying his Yates Skillet Head. I had just assumed he was playing the Gibson SH. Can you believe how that thing stands out from the rest??? AWESOME!

me, Mark . . . he, Chris . . . .I think . . .so confused since I have to look in a mirror to play the right way.

Sorry Mark, yeah I'm obviously so confused about you and Chris, I don't know whether to scratch my watch or wind my rear end. My apologies to you too, Chris

NP! Premsore . . you are obviously under the influence of sound induced
disorientation by all the tone that new SH is putting out!!

No worries here Premsore. Luckily, Kaybone doesn't know me well enough to be offended by being mistaken for me! Now, back to anticipation.....

Just looked at the IBMA clip of FMB and Jim, you are right. It just jumps out at you. Ron can really pull tone from that banjo! I am in line for one, just not sure when!
