Hello all,

For any of you curious about the use of a Skillet Head tailpiece on a regular Yates Ron Stewart, I have posted an observation here:

It's not exactly one of the new SH tailpieces...but it is one of the Gibson 50s tailpieces that the SH one was modeled after.

I had this laying around for years and never thought much about using it until I told Ron I had it and he offered to buy it. I thought well if he wants it that bad there must be something to it. And he is right. I made a definite difference. Only down side is that my string action has raised some, due to the fact that this tailpiece dose not put the down pressure on the bridge that the presto did. But I can get used to the higher action for the tonal difference. I would encourage anybody that has one to give it a try. I am very glad I did. Its also a pain in the butt to change strings on compared to the presto, again a small price to pay for the tone.
