Commissioning a custom built banjo from the other side of the world where the time difference is perfectly out of sync, so that the builder is finishing his day, as the customer is just starting theirs, could place some fairly inconvenient hurdles in what is already a delicate process, unless the builder and client have a common bond of wanting the absolute best outcome that is possible and are both prepared to commit heavily to the design and build process.
Rickard Banjos have exactly that commitment to the client. My decision to go with Rickard banjos amongst all the potential banjo builders in North America, was so totally the right call and whenever I compared builders, I kept on coming back to Rickard because they offered what I wanted, in features and quality, at a price that I could afford. I felt that they understood all of my ideas and helped refine them with out taking over the process and because of that we were able to come to a really focused position of clarity.

I was after an open back banjo, with the design paying homage to the vintage esthetic Dobson styles of the late 19th and early 20th century but with the structural, component and engineering advantages of 21st century. I am now the proud owner of a wonderful, wonderful banjo that will satisfy my needs for the rest of my days and something that I will be delighted to be growing old with...I could not have wished for anything more.
