I grew up on a dairy farm in western Wisconsin. I started playing the banjo when I was 15 and was doing pretty well, but I had to get a job off from the farm selling auto parts. My work soon took over all of my time and I didn't touch my banjo for the last 15 years. My children's interest in music finally fanned the flames that were building up in me. At the end of 2011 I pulled my banjo out of the closet, threw a new set of strings on it, and started playing again. I am now appreciating the banjo more than I ever did when I was younger. I just think to myself how much better I could have been by now if I would have only kept playing. I know one thing... you should never put your banjo in the closet! In the last month, I upgraded my old Dixon banjo with a Recording King RK-R35. So far I've been very impressed!
