Born and raised in Winterthur/Zurich - Switzerland and living (day-jobs) in Sao Paulo - Brazil since 1969. My first banjo I purchased in 1973 in Long Island, after visiting the US for the first time, all with a Greyhound bus ticket "99 dollars for 99 days". On every station you could put a quarter in the Jukebox and listen to "Dueling Banjos" and in Butte (MT) after visiting the Yellowstone Park, I could even listen to a band playing the Dueling Banjo live in a bar called "Saloon" which blew me away and made me buy my first banjo in Long Island (NY) before leaving the country and returning to Brazil (via Europe) but it took me 10 years really to find the way (and a more expensive banjo) to get rolling. Founding member and President of the SPBMA - Sao Paulo Bluegrass Music Association in April 1996 and webmaster of its web site www.bluegrass.com.br since 2002.
