Dixie Breakdown

Somewhere, sometime, probably years back, and maybe in BNL, I read a discussion on Dixie Breakdown. In that discussion it was stated that the peculiar I, I7, IV, I descending phrase  that occurs several times in the refrain of Dixie Breakdown has a name in classical harmony. The name had the format of "XYZ Fourth". For the life of me I can't remember the name and can't find that reference. 

Why that worries me I do not know; but it keeps coming to the front of my thoughts. 

 

Anyone remember that?

Started in Buffalo SC with guitar as a teenager. Added the banjo pretty soon and the rest over the years. Had a pretty active local band since 1980 now mostly retired. Play with others as need arises.
