I began playing banjo in late 1997. I had my first instruction by the local banjo hero Lee 'Boy' Sexton. Then my next form of guidance into the bluegrass realm came by way of the Earl Scrugg's instruction book. I have been basically self taught, picking up what I can here and there. While attending Berea College, I was one of the founding members that resurrected their Bluegrass Ensemble. I then went on and helped form the group Canebreak. We recorded one independent record. I then went on to play with a Leslie Co. based group Wolfcreek Grass. I am currently playing the Upright Bass with a gospel group, The Master's Harmony. I feel that the Lord has called me into His singing ministry and I take it very seriously. There is nothing greater than knowing Jesus as my personal Savior, and serving him through music.
