Started playing around 1979. Practiced for a couple years but was too chicken to jam with other humans, then got REAL lazy. Picked up the banjo for 15 minutes every 6 months, got frustrated, and put it away. This continued until 2005 when this life-altering (and I mean that!) event happened: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrlqQ1_vZVE Upon seeing this, something snapped in my tiny brain, I sold off a vehicle and almost all the equipment I'd collected for another hobby (ham radio) to buy another banjo, and have been practicing ever since. Now that I'm too old to care about making a fool of myself, jamming is fun! If you're just starting out, I'd be happy to share many lessons-learned. Thanks Steve, Pete, and Earl!!!
