Hi all,
Nice to meet you my name is Kirsten, I'm 20 and new to banjo.
When I was much younger I heard a song through the car speakers and instantly fell in love with the sound of the banjo.. the song was "Midnight Flyer" by the Eagles.
I've been playing guitar for quite a while but earlier this year I was in need of a good distraction so I went out and bought myself a banjo (something I've wanted to do ever since I heard Bernie Leadon play that fantastic song) and a few beginner books.
After reading a few posts on here I chose a Deering Goodtime 5 string as my first banjo and I have to say I'm loving this new musical experience, banjo is such a fun instrument.
I'm determined to learn as much as I can to become a much better banjo player and can't wait to be able to get out there and play.
After lurking for a while I thought it might be a good idea to join this community, feel free to say hi :)
