Trying to find out about a Vega Banjo

I have a friend with a 4 string Vega banjo. It has 20 frets, resonator and the serial # is 2454. Anybody have information about this banjo? It was purchased in 1996 used. The serial # is stamped in white.

Any help would be appreciated!
