Born & raised in upstate N.Y. Parents were Irish immigrants, who owned a boarding house & pub. Was exposed mostly to Irish music growing up. Began fooling around in my late teens with a tenor banjo, but never got really serious for one reason or another. 40+ yrs. later, retired, children gone off, educations paid, etc. got serious about music. Have been on this site many times & find its info extremely helpful, so I finally decided to join. Mainly like Irish, but I am also a great fan of old time sing-along dixieland & jazz. I hope I still have time to get much better??!!
