Well, after only a few weeks of playing a new Gibson RB250, my playing has improved greatly, probably because of the hours I spend playing this great banjo! Lot of fun...One good tool to use is to be very self-critical...recording my playing and then listening and picking out the muddy lines and licks, then working to clean those up...I have a goal to increase my speed however, playing muddy lines and wrong notes at speed still sounds bad!!! First priority is correct notation...In talking with accomplished pickers, I am told repeatedly that the speed will come...
I wish I had started this at 17 instead of 57!!! I would be really good by now!!
