My daughter is a student at Parsons School of Design. As a project last year she did an album cover for one of her local favorite bands.
I'm very proud of her. I like to think she is a chip off the old block, but she is far beyond that weary statement...

Heard a lot of folkies in the 50s & 60s - started playing on Kay, then a Vega long-neck. Went to college, heard a lot of different music, didn't play much banjo for the next 40+ years -- Just started up again in Jan 2010. Bluegrass and banjo have come a long way, lots of catching up to do... Still got the Vega, and have recently purchased the Cox. Love the sound of both instruments... Purchased a c 1964 Vega ST-5 Scruggs model from a lisiting on BHO; it's a great playing instrument, and is lighter than a mastertone style so it makes a great 'festival' banjo. More recently I've acquired another Cox, a Carolina. It's a great sounding maple banjo; cracks sharp as a tack, and it is LOUD. I love it. Bluegrass Banjo-playing is, of course, more challanging than Bluegrass Banjo-owning, but I love all my banjos. I guess I may be suffering through the beginning twinges of BAS. And I do like to play these fine instruments.
