Started playing bluegrass back in 1970 in S Africa, when it didn't exist there. Did the Holiday Inn circuit as a duo (Banjo/Guitar, Fiddle/Guitar) for a couple of years. Then played with the Lickerstill String band in Namibia, and the DT String Band in Cape Town. Haven't played for 25 years, and am now getting back into it. Looking to get an Emerald X20 guitar and either getting the old Vega completely re-done, or buying a new open-back banjo from someone like J Remero - or possibly an Aussie hand-made. Skill level - very rusty.
