My father purchased a Martin soprano ukulele when I was eight, and I learned a few chords on my own. Shortly thereafter, a friend of the family happened to visit; he could really pl;ay the ukulele well, and I "copied" his style and techniques as well as I could manage. Then my father acquired a banjo uke, and later a tenor banjo when I was about twelve, however, my love of the banjo didn't develop until I heard Eddie Peabody, the master of the plectrum, which inspired me to learn and collect plectrums.
