Need Information about an Inhereted May-Bell Banjo

Yo Folks,

I just inherited an old May-Bell banjo two days ago, and am excited and quite interested in knowing more about it. It isn't in top notch condition and with the little I do know about banjos, I was wondering if someone could enlighten me about this particular make and model. Also, I am very interested in learning to play the banjo, and I feel with a little work it would be in fine playing condition. I do have a musical background as well so I will be give somewhat knowledge responses. The images of the banjo are underneath my profile images.
