Maybe 1987?? I can't remember for sure. I don't own the banjo. It belongs to a friend. I've seen several like this from the 1980s. All that I've seen have been engraved in cursive.
The one in the auction could be earlier and authentic. But I would discuss with Bart before making an offer.
