No matter how tight or how much tension I put on to keep tail down close to head, it always raises up and strings slip out from under it. I will send it to u if u want when I go home for xmas. Won't b home til then

You don't want the tail piece close to the head. Keep it fairly flat to the bridge, with just enough tension to keep the strings from jumping out. Too much down force puts alot of force on it.

It don't matter. The strings come out when I am playing or when I pull it out of case after driving all day. (I m a truck driver) that's why I m getting a waverly. Strings will stay put then

Maybe your bridge isn't cut deep enough.

Its just a cheap piece of thin pot metal. Looks like it had been bent. Tried to fix it but didn't work. That's why I have a new tailpiece waiting for me. Can't practice if all I do is continually having to loosen strings to put them back under tailpiece and retune! Very aggravating.

Brand new grover 5/8" bridge with inserts and new gibson g-573m strings

The 5/8 Grover is what I have on my Gibson but without the inserts. Keep me posted Ed and let me know how it turns out. Joe
