2012 Buckeye 12" Openback with 3 1/2" Deep Pot, Tubaphone Tone Ring, Curly Maple with Brass Hardware, Backstrapping and Custom Cole Style Inlay made by Greg Galbreath (Buckeye Banjos), Eggleston, Virginia. Greg says "My first foray into the world of "Extreme Banjo Making", this 12" maple banjo combines a 3 1/2" deep rim with a Tubaphone tone ring, to create a banjo with a powerful sound. It posesses a booming low end but also a nice clear high end. In addition, it sports numerous highly engraved ornaments, a Fairbanks Presentaion grade peghead, a long backstap and one of the most stunning pieces of curly maple I've seen in a long time." And, I have since had Greg put me a skin head on it replacing the Renaisance head (which I didn't care for).
