I built this banjo at Mike Ramsey's banjo building workshop in 2004.

Hi Don,
How's your student banjo holding up? I'm still like the one I made and wish I could attend another workshop. Merry Christmas!

Phil,
Good to hear from you. The banjo's doing fine. I got tired of having to retune the fifth string each time I used the spikes, so I got a Shubb 5th string capo installed. I like it much better. Purists would probably have a heart attack.
I've got the urge to build another banjo someday as well. I'd like something with a slimmer, narrower neck. The neck on this one is huge. I have a hard time with some of the multi-fingered chords.
Anyway, it's great to hear from you again. Look me up if you ever make it to the deep South.
-Don
