Circa 1940, Stokes Co. NC. Uncle Bill on the Guitar, Uncle John on banjer, and Lloyd Tilley, my grandfather whom I never knew, on fiddle. Arthur Smith was quoted in writing as saying that Lloyd Tilley was a good old-time fiddler.
