Good luck with that one. The neck is very important to the playablity of the banjo.

It works for a few days and then the neck remembers it's old shape. I think it has a soft spot at the end of the heel, the 15th to 17 fret.

Yes, it's an older banjo and for the last year or more, I've had no trouble, just pick it up and play. Nice sound. Wish I had an "A" Goodtime.
