From what I've been able to learn online, Esta was a Boulder-area artist -- a painter, I believe. She's listed at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, a terrific facility in DC. I don't think she had any connection to ODE beyond photo modeling. Sadly, she passed away several years ago.

Moody Esta sure sold a lot of Ode banjos! When that catalog with her picture in it came out, it was just before every girl in the country started wearing her hair long and straight. She was every young guy's dreamboat, for sure!
There's another picture of her taken during the same photo session that shows her looking at the camera. Same everything except her head angle. She's very pretty in it, but not nearly as mysterious or fetching as this one.
