It's nice to see a youngster in there, and I don't mean you Guy, sorry. : )

Hi Jane, that was Keith Strong's lad Curtiss. He's only 10 and he's also one to watch. I think he was the youngest student this year and it was a joy to have him in the class. He also played a solo on the Scratch Band Concert. Angeline the Baker if my memory serves me well.

Hi, I'm told that the Sore Fingers Summer School is not really for beginners, that you already should be rather advanced.
So, can you tell me what are the basic skills you require from you "beginner" students ?

Hi Erwin, I'm sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, I missed your comment for some reason. In answer to your question, you do not need anything but a banjo and a desire to learn. You will learn loads, both from the tutors and fellow students. There are also numerous opportunities to get together with other musicians and jam or for that matter form a scratch band and play on the Thursday night concert. It's a magical experience and one that will stay with you. I notice from your blog that you were at EWOB. I was there too. It's a shame I didn't know, we could have hooked up. BTW, I really missed English beer. I hardly had a drink all weekend, I wish I'd known, I would have brought some with me. :-)
