I have the same tuners on my 1925 B&D Silver Bell tenor. They work great...but turn backwards...it is veryconfusing.

I got some that look a little like that. They turn the wrong way, too. They came off a very beat up old Paramount La Tourraine.

Mine are enclosed and don't have the screw through the cover that attaches the post like yours. I'm not sure how to take them apart to work on them.

Hello peoples!
I got a email from a friend in Kentucky about these little rascals. He is tracking down the maker for me, but he says these were the first experimental geared tuners for a banjo.
I guess when I put them back on a banjo, I am going to have to play it behind my back like Doug Kershaw used to do with his fiddle since they turn backwards!

I had to look under a magnifier to read...it actually says: "PAT PEND FOR WAVERLY"
