Get a new Head Rick, its got to be weak, or something must have Slashed it for it to Rip like that. Put a 5 Star on Mate. Its an easy enough Job.

I use REMO, I've had 5* previously though, both are good, see if you can play banjo's with both REMO and 5* heads on them and decide which one you like best.
Nicely done BTW ive never seen such a dramatic head split!!!

Never touched the setting on the head heck I have only had the Banjo for 3 months
