She's almost 100 years old, but plays and sounds super. A few years back, I took this banjo down to Curtis McPeake for him to set it up. He once posted on-line that if you need the flathead sound, you need a flathead banjo. The first thing that came out of his mouth was "This sounds like a flathead." This was with the tone ring mate which has since been removed. Or if you live around the Louisville area, I encourage you to try it out before purchase.
