BHO loading too many POP UP ADs today

BHO is acting odd today. I'm getting large pop up ads at the top & bottom of my screen. When I delete them, they reappear within a few seconds. I've reset my computer & cleared out cookies but can't get rid of this issue. BTW, the BHO is the only site this is happening.

Is it just my computer or is everyone having a problem with a slow Hangout? Seems to take several long seconds for anything to come up, change, etc.

Hangouts are on a new server. Run into issues? Let me know...

Hi Folks!

Yesterday, we moved all the Hangouts to new servers. The new servers are newer and faster, but there are lots of config tweaks that need to be made for everything to work well.

If you notice any issues, please report them on this thread, or at least in this forum, and we'll get 'em fixed. Thanks for your patience!

Server was down last night

Several people have let me know that they could not get on the Hangout last night but just got a message that it was down and would come back up 1/1/26. That definitely was a glitch in the system.

The Hangout was back up after a little while but still has problems. I am unable to send a PM to anyone and I get this message:

500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

I presume Eric is aware of the problem and working on it.

When I click on my picture (top right), instead of taking me to my home page, it takes me to the member search.
Not a huge problem, but I thought I should mention it.

As of today when I search a topic and get the result list, every posting I click on gives the error:

What is a “Featured Ad”? I paid for 2 months of that upgrade but not sure how it projects in the Marketplace. My ad has not appeared in the running photo stream on the home page.

Cannot Write Text Tab Using the "Formated" Text Style. Lines Don't End.

It has been YEARS since I've been able to write text tab in a forum post using the "Formatted" paragraph style choice. While the tab looks correct in Preview, the posted tab NEVER has line breaks -- whether I use soft or hard returns.

Is this a Mac problem? The problem occurs in all three browsers I use on my Mac: Safari, Firefox, Chrome.

The following tab looks correct in Preview. But it does not post correctly.

What's happening? And canyou fix it?

I can post photos from my iPad, but I cannot post pictures from my iPhone. What do I need to turn on in order to do that?

Good morning.

I have been having trouble getting a message through for about a month now. At first I thought maybe it was the other person not responding but it’s happened too may times with different people.

I’ve tried to buy 4 items from the classifieds (all from different sellers) and have gotten no response from anyone. I sent 3 messages to a bridge maker (probably over a span of a month) and nothing in response from him either.

If I select to have a copy emailed to me , I get the email from the BHO on my end.

Any suggestions on what to do on my end?

I've been out of the loop on this forum for quite some time...haven't really been playing much the last nearly 10 years, but just dove back into it all. I just posted a "want to buy" ad in the classifieds, and noticed this warning in the ad.

I can't find any info in the FAQs, or through a search, on how to be verified. Any help? I'm not sure if it's even a big deal, but I don't like seeing people warned about me. :)

How to change profile pic

My avatar got deleted and now I can’t post a new pic to my profile. All I get is stocked images that are blown up so large you can’t get to the edit button. It may let you use a sock photo but I can’t use one from my library. I am a knuckle dragging Hill Billy so any help would be appreciated

'Luthier Search' 'Nearest' option never comes back

When I do a 'Luthier Search', the 'Newest' and 'Popular' options return results immediately. When I select 'Nearest', it says "Please wait..." and never comes back with results. I tried changing my profile zip code as a test, same result. Tested on Chrome and Firefox, Windows 11.

It seems that if you search the forums, you only get results from topic headers. I searched on “plectrum,” looking or a post where I knew the term was mentioned in the body of a reply—though not in the topic header. The only returns I I got were the topic titles—none from posts that had “plectrum” only in the body of a post. Not really as useful a tool as it could be.

Pro Member not getting new emails since January 2, 2026

Hi, so over a year ago I shared this site with a friend and they subscribed out of interest. They get emails when a new release from Eric comes out. However, I have not received any new emails since January 2nd. This happened to me about 9 months ago and then all of a sudden I started getting emails again and then it stopped. I sent sent an email to Eric but had not heard back so I really don't know what to do. I really enjoy the site but being a pro member and not getting any inputs or put it being put in the drawings or getting any kinds of notifications is rather frustrating. Can anyone help me? Kind regards ??

Problem uploading an mp3

I can't figure out what is the problem. I've uploaded hundreds of mp3s in a similar fashion, but this one resists. I tried converting my mp3 in a couple of ways, though it started as a normal mp3.

I keep getting this error message:

Persits.Upload.1 error '800a001a'
The system cannot find the path specified./pages/edit-music-upload.asp, line 44

Any ideas?

Unable to Add MP3 to Tab Entry

I have added a tab to the Tab Archive, but I get the error message below when I try to add MP3 files to the record:

Persits.Upload.1 error '800a001a'
The system cannot find the path specified.

I have tried to shorten the filename with no success. I also tried another MP3 file that has worked before. Any suggestions?

Opening BHO page never changes

Private messaging has so far been an inscrutable process for me. I never see a notice on the site that I've received a message, yet I'll get emails telling me that someone has messaged me. Those messages contain a copy of the message. This seems odd to me. Someone shed some light on this, please. Bob Russell, puzzled picker

I make note of this because i’ve received several requests lately about computer issues with the site. I mostly can’t help because I have no knowledge about the issue. Computer issues should go to Eric, who is pressed for time because of the many hats he wears. In general, posting to the site problems forum stands a better chance of getting help than writing a mod. If it’s a “how-to” issue, some member likely knows the answer. Eric reads that forum and will answer when needed. To be sure, I and the other mods will help if we can, but the members’ collective experience is a better knowledge base than any one moderator.
