Composed by O Carolan to honor the Fourth Earl of Inchiquin who succeeded to the title in 1719. If this tune is a true reflection, he must have been a most amiable fellow. Composed by Ireland's National Composer, Turlough O'Carolan (1670 - 1738), performed by the Angel Band, Album: Instrumental Music In the Celtic Tradition © 1998-2010 The Angel Band, all rights reserved. David Behm, Guitar; Samantha Goodall, Violin; Jeff Lind, Bass; Emery Hutchins, Concertina & Bodhran; Bob Paul. Hammered Dulcimer; Mary Paul, Celtic Harp; Bob Frost. 5-String Banjo; Mark Rockwood, Mandolin.

Thanks to each of you for your kind and welcome comments. The arrangement was collectively evolved in this and most of tunes we did. There would be running quips during our weekly practices about herding cats, nailing jello to the wall, and. occasionally, making sausage. The main thing was first to agree on the melody itself or what would go with it—or not, then toss around ideas for introducing the tune and ways to express the music among seven people with instrumentation visually more closely associated with Bluegrass or American Country bands with a little Folkie tossed in.
We had a wonderful time featuring O'Carolan's music, especially to Irish audiences when we were fortunate enough to be the featured performers at the two Irish festivals in his name.
