My Elly wrote this one shortly after finishing recording the rest of the material for our bluegrass/old time trio Skyland's CD. Our friend Theo Lissenberg, who sang and played with us in that group, was terminally ill by that time. He was so happy he managed to record the other songs and tunes. She wrote it for him and we recorded it in this 'missing man' formation. Just Elly & me with our guitar & mandolin. Theo approved it to be put on the CD and make it the title track. So we did. Theo didn't live to the presentation of the album in May 2003, however. We'll never forget him.

Sorry to hear of this story, but it is very touching. Great tune and I am sure he is looking down with a happy heart each time he hears it being played. Hats off to you, Elly and Theo.
