Lady Wrixon is another benefactress, but of uncertain time and place. There were no landed Wrixons outside of County Cork, a region visited by O Carolan before 1720. Possibly she was the wife of Benjamin Wrixon, Esq., of Ballygibblin. But no matter, it’s still a wonderful tune.
